Portfolio Project Stage 4

Production Week

This week we worked on filming our shots. We decided to meet at a playground because our film is based on a kidnap that happened at the park. During production we used a phone to record the shots. We filmed for 3 hours for 26 shots.

Filming Process

When we got there we decided to start filming at a bench showing the older sister, Cassandra, crying that her sister was kidnapped. That was for the first 6 shots. Then we switched locations of the park for Cassandra's flashback of how the kidnap happened for shots 7-26.

During filming, the only difficulty we had was the weather. Filming was hard because the weather was hot and we were sweating and thirsty most of the time.

We had a lot of "a-ha" moments while filming. My friend Anjolee who plays Cassandra, was acting but when it came to the scenes were she was supposed to be sad we would always start laughing. While she was attempting to act like she was crying, she would make weird donkey noises. Her acting wasn't always the best so we had to re do the shots until she got it right.

Behind the scenes

These are some outtakes we took during our break. We were at a park so during break we went on a spinny ride because we were tired and out in the sun.

Overall, filming was really fun. The first hour was the hardest because we had to be at a bench and the sun was so strong. We were also running out of water so we decided to hurry up the shots that are supposed to be at the bench. The park has a roof so the sun wasn't hitting us in the face anymore. We took a break once we got there because we were in the sun for a whole hour and then we continued filming. During filming, Anacamila's mom was kind and offered us frappuccinos from McDonalds and it really helped with the heat. Once we finished filming, we all decided to play in the park until our parents come to pick us up.
